Character.com Gift Card Terms & Conditions

These terms apply to both physical and digital gift cards ("Gift Card(s)") purchased from Tootonic Ltd., trading as Character.com ("we", "us", "our").
1. Redeeming Your Gift Card
1.1. Our Gift Cards can be redeemed as full or part payment for goods at www.character.com and in any participating UK Character.com retail store.
1.2. To redeem online, enter the unique code at the checkout. To redeem in-store, present your Gift Card at the point of purchase.
1.3. The currency for all Gift Cards is GBP Sterling (£).
1.4. Multiple Gift Cards may be used in a single transaction.
1.5. Gift Cards cannot be used to purchase additional Gift Cards.
2. Validity Period
2.1. Gift Cards are valid for a period of 24 months from the date of purchase.
2.2. Any remaining balance on the card after 24 months of inactivity will be forfeited and the card will become invalid and cannot be reinstated.
3. Checking Your Balance
3.1. You can check the available balance on your Gift Card at any time by:
a) Visiting our online balance checker here.
b) Asking a member of staff in any of our retail stores.
c) Contacting our customer service team.
4. Refunds & Returns
4.1. If you return an item(s) purchased using a Gift Card, the refunded amount will be credited back to the original Gift Card. If you no longer have the original Gift Card, the refund will be issued to a new Gift Card.
4.2. If your order was paid with a combination of a Gift Card and another payment method, any refund will first be applied back to the Gift Card, with any remaining amount credited to the other payment method.
4.3. Gift Cards are non-refundable and cannot be exchanged for cash, except where required by law. This does not affect your statutory rights.
5. Lost, Stolen, or Damaged Cards
5.1. Please treat your Gift Card as if it were cash. We cannot be held liable for lost, stolen, or damaged cards, or for any unauthorised use of the card.
5.2. We are unable to replace or reimburse the balance on lost, stolen, or damaged cards.
6. Limitations & Cancellation
6.1. Gift Cards cannot be resold, transferred for value, or redeemed for cash. Unused balances on Gift Cards may not be transferred to another card.
6.2. Character.com reserves the right to refuse, suspend, or cancel a Gift Card if we have reasonable grounds to believe it was obtained or is being used fraudulently, unlawfully, or in breach of these terms and conditions.
7. Data Protection
7.1. Any personal information collected in relation to your Gift Card will be processed in accordance with our Privacy Policy, which can be found here.
8. General
8.1. We reserve the right to amend these terms and conditions at any time. Any such changes will be effective when posted on our website.
8.2. These terms and conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. You agree, as we do, to submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.
